Tips for Preparing a Successful Study Permit Application for Canada

Select the right college: To apply for a study permit, you need an acceptance letter from a designated learning institution. A designated learning institution is a school approved by a provincial or territorial government to host international students. You need to know if you are eligible to work after you graduate. Not all designated learning institutions make you eligible for the Post-Graduation Work Permit Program.

Study program: Make sure your study program is related to your previous education or work experience. Even if enrolled in an unrelated study program, then you should have an excellent reason to explain.

Study plan: Provide a detailed plan, intent and purpose of your study in Canada.

Ties to home country: Satisfy the visa officer that your visit to Canada is temporary. You will return to your home country or country of residence after studying in Canada by providing strong ties to your home country.
